Patrollers reported an auto accident involving a car and a motorcycle in the area of 10th and High. The patrollers advised that the motorcycle fled the scene. CPD was notified of the situation via 645-4545. CPD advised that since the motorcycle fled the scene, they will not be sending a cruiser. CPD advised the driver to file a report online. No further action could be taken.

Patrollers were approached by a male that had just been involved in a fight in the area of 12th and Summit. The male advised that he and his friends were assaulted in the area of Chittenden and Summit. The patrollers asked if the male wanted police or medical attention. The male declined both. No further action could be taken.

Patrollers attended the OSU Safety Walk event.

Patrollers conducted a well-being check on an unresponsive male in front of 4 E. 13th Avenue. CPD was notified of the situation via 645-4545. Columbus Fire Department Medic 13 responded to the scene. Medic 13 awoke the male. Medic 13 advised that the male has denied any further care. No further action could be taken.

4-23-22

Patrollers reported an assault in the area of 14th and High. The patrollers advised that an Ohio State University Police Officer, who was in the area and witnessed the situation, diffused the situation. All individuals involved denied any medical attention. No further action was taken.

4-30-22

Patrollers heard the sound of an auto accident while in front of 1367 Indianola. The patrollers investigated the situation and located a vehicle on its side. The patrollers advised that a resident had contacted CPD via 911 and advised them of the situation. Columbus Fire Department Engine 7, Columbus Police Department Cars 7, 42, S-4, and R-41 responded to the scene. CPD Car R-41 conducted a field sobriety test on the driver of the vehicle. The driver failed the sobriety test and was placed under arrest. CPD Cruiser R-41 transported the suspect to the Franklin County Correctional Facility.

Call of the Month

Patrollers witnessed a shooting in front of 3911 Dresden. The patrollers advised CPD of the situation via 911. The patrollers advised that the suspect fled the area in a vehicle, at first northbound, but then turned around and left the area southbound on Dresden. Patrollers gave a description of the vehicle to the CPD radio operator. The patrollers made their way to the victim and advised that assistance was on the way. CPD Cruisers 7112 and R-9180 arrived on the scene. The patrollers located a gun in close proximity to the victim and pointed it out to responding officers. Columbus Fire Department Medic M-61, Ladder 61, and CPD Car 24 arrived on scene. CPD Cruiser 9061 arrived on scene. CFD Medic 61 transported the victim to the hospital. CPD Detectives arrived on scene and got witness statements from the patrollers as well as from a resident who had also witnessed the shooting.
