Call of the Month

Patrollers reported a car theft in front of 1011 W. Broad; CPD was notified of the situation via 645-4545. While the patrollers were notifying CPD of the situation, a large fight involving 8 to 10 individuals broke out. The patrollers received threats of violence and moved away from the large altercation. At this point the patrollers advised CPD of the situation via 911. Before the arrival of police, the stolen vehicle returned to the scene and drove through the large crowd of people involved in the altercations. No one was struck by the vehicle. The stolen vehicle left the scene. CPD Cars 195, 191, 9191, 88, 9082, 191, 103, 88, and the CPD Helicopter all responded to the scene. A short time later a CPD officer advised the patrollers that the stolen vehicle was recovered, but the suspect was never found.

Patrollers assisted a merchant at 1043 W. Broad with an aggressive panhandler refusing to leave store property. The individual left without incident.

2-19-20

Patrollers monitored an argument between a male and a female in the area of Cypress and Broad. The patrollers advised that the male entered a residence on Cypress and the female left the area. No further action was needed.

2-26-20

Patrollers were in front of 29 Cypress when they reported a shivering dog chained to the rear porch of residence. Animal Control was contacted but was unavailable. CPD was notified via 645-4545, but the police refused to respond. One of the patrollers took the dog to the OSU Vet Hospital.

2-29-20

Patrollers reported a suspicious male swinging a baseball bat and talking to himself in the area of Scott and Rodgers. The patrollers advised that the male said he always takes a bat on a walk for safety. The patrollers monitored the male for a little bit more time. Patrollers advised that the male was causing no further disturbances.
