Patrollers reported an unresponsive individual in front of 1525 N. High. The patrollers advised 911 of the situation. Columbus Fire Department Medic 7 and CPD Car 41 responded to the scene. Responding emergency personal awoke the individual. No further action was taken.

Patrollers reported an intoxicated individual in the area of Lane and High. The patrollers contacted CPD Car 41 who talked with the individual. A taxi was contacted and the individual was taken home. No further action was taken.

Patrollers were in the area of Broad and Belle when they came across an auto accident involving two vehicles. CPD Cars S-72, 7212, 7217, and CRT-16 responded to the scene. Responding officers cited both drivers and a tow truck was contacted for one of the vehicles.

Patrollers reported a structure with an open door at 363 S. Central. The patrollers also reported that two suspicious individuals were seen leaving the structure. CPD was notified of the situation via 645-4545. CPD Car 9082 responded to the scene, searched the property and detected no signs of criminal activity. The patrollers advised Car 9082 of the description of the individuals and their last known direction of travel.

Patrollers were approached by a male in front of 928 W. Rich who wanted to have someone removed from his property. CPD was notified via 645-4545. CPD Car 81 responded to the scene, advised the individual to leave, and the individual complied. No further action was needed.

Call of the Month

Patrollers were in the area of Cypress and State when they reported witnessing a male shoplift a case of beer. CPD was notified of the situation via 645-4545. CPD Car 9082 responded to the scene and stopped the individual in the area of Capital and Dakota. CPD Cars 81, 82, 91, and 9082 responded to the scene. The individual was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

Patrollers were approached by a male in front of 575 W. Broad with a head wound requesting medical attention. CPD was contacted via 645-4545. Columbus Fire Department Medic 10 and CPD Car 88 responded to the scene. Medic 10 transported the individual to Mount Carmel Hospital. CPD Car 88 took an assault report.

Patrollers reported a suspicious individual with a hand gun in the area of Broad and Stevens. CPD was notified of the situation via 645-4545. Before the arrival of police, the individual left the area in a vehicle. No further action was taken.

3-18-14

Patrollers were in front of 1185 W. Broad when they reported a fight involving a male and a female. CPD was contacted via 911. Before the arrival of police, both parties left in separate directions. CPD Car 190 arrived on the scene and the patrollers passed along details of the fight.

What do these mean?

The CCP Downtown Trail & Parks Safety Program patrols North Bank Park, Genoa Park, Scioto Audubon, and the Scioto Mile. Patrollers are out in the parks on mountain bikes seven days a week in order to provide an added measure of safety to bikers, walkers, joggers, etc., and to assist with any problems the parks and connecting trails might experience, such as flat tires, injuries, etc. During the month of March, CCP patrollers provided 444.75 patrol hours in and around the parks.
