Patrollers reported a fight involving several individuals in the area of Campus Place and High. Patrollers advised a CPD special duty officer of the situation. CPD Cars 9040, R-42, and Columbus Fire Department Medic 7 responded to the scene. Medic 7 treated one of the individuals who was kicked in the head during the altercation. No arrests were made.

4-25-11

Patrollers were approached by a possibly intoxicated male who advised that he had injured his ankle in front of 2106 N. High. The Columbus Fire Department was notified of the situation. Medic 13 responded to the scene. Medic 13 provided no medical attention and Net Care was contacted. Net Care responded to the area and took the male to their facility.

Call of the Month

Patrollers were approached by a individual in the area of Sixth and Moler, who advised the patrollers that his vehicle had just been struck by another vehicle. CPD was notified of the situation via 645-4545. Columbus Fire Department Engine X6 arrived on the scene and began treating the passenger of the victim vehicle. CPD Cars 110, 9110 and Medic 1 arrived on the scene. Responding officers conducted a field sobriety test on the driver of the suspect vehicle. It was determined that the suspect was operating the vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. In addition, several open containers of alcohol were found inside the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was transported to the Franklin County Correctional Facility.

What do these mean?

The CCP Trail & Parks Safety Program patrols the Metro Parks Greenway trails along the Olentangy River, as well as the Alum Creek Trail. Patrollers are out on the trail on mountain bikes five days a week (weather permitting) in order to provide an added measure of safety to bikers, walkers, joggers, etc., and to assist with any problems trail users might experience, such as flat tires, injuries, etc. During the month of April, CCP patrollers provided 125.50 patrol hours on the trails.
