The patrollers and staff of Community Crime Patrol were pleased to participate in the “burglary special” project during OSU’s spring break, March 19-27, 2010, to help combat the historic rise in property crimes during school breaks. Patrollers logged 124 hours during this time period and aided CPD officers in following 5 suspicious individuals.
Patrollers were approached by an individual in front of 1946 Indianola, who advised them that a friend had fallen and struck his head on the pavement. The Columbus Fire Department was notified via 645-4545. CFD Medic X-29 responded to the scene and treated the individual. The individual declined being taken to the hospital.

One of the individuals approached the patrollers and advised them that his girlfriend had just kicked in his front door. CPD was notified via 645-4545. Before the arrival of police, the girlfriend left the area in a vehicle. CPD Car 9082 responded to the scene and took a criminal damaging report. No further action was taken.
Call of the Month
Patrollers reported several small fires reigniting on a structure that recently had been extinguished by the Columbus Fire Department in the area of Town and Mead. The Columbus Fire Department was contacted. CFD Engine 10 responded to the scene and extinguished the flames.
