The patrollers and staff of Community Crime Patrol were pleased to participate in the“burglary special” project during OSU’s winter break, December 10-31, 2009, to help combat the historic rise in property crimes during school breaks. Patrollers logged 377.5 hours during this time period and aided CPD officers in following 11 suspicious individuals.
Call of the Month
Patrollers witnessed a suspect removing copper wires from the bottom of a light pole in front of 182 E. 14th Avenue. Patrollers continued to monitor the suspect. Approximately 20 minutes later the suspect was seen removing more copper wire from light poles in the rear of 128 E. 13th Avenue. CPD Cars 355 and 356 responded to the scene. The suspect was given a summons for Criminal Mischief and the copper wire was taken to the CPD property room.
