Community Crime Patrol Observe to Protect

Patrollers came across a male in front of 230 W. 10th Avenue, lying on the ground in front of the entrance to the dorms. Patrollers contacted OSU Police about the situation. OSU Car 33 and an OSU Bicycle Officer responded to the scene. Officers spoke with the male. The male left the area without any further incident. No further action was needed.

Patrollers came across two individuals who had just been involved in an auto accident. The patrollers assisted the drivers in moving their vehicle to a safe place. The patrollers stood by as the drivers exchanged insurance information. A short time later, both drivers left the area without any further incident.

Call of the Month

Patrollers reported a structure on fire in the area of Martin and Capital. The Columbus Fire Department was contacted via 911. CPD Car 163, CFD Ladder 10 and Engine 10 responded to the scene. The fire was extinguished and all units cleared the scene.

Patrollers reported hearing approximately four gunshots west of their location; CPD was notified and the patrollers cleared the area.

Patrollers advised a male setting up a tent that Schiller Park was closed. The male became aggressive towards the patrollers. The patrollers contacted CPD via 645-4545 and advised them of the situation. CPD Cars 113 and 115 responded to the scene. Responding officer spoke with the male. The male left the park without further incident.

Patrollers reported a suspicious male attempting to open car doors in the area of Gates and Jaeger. CPD was notified of the situation via 645-4545 and advised of the situation. Before the arrival of police, the two males entered a vehicle and left the area. CPD was updated via 645-45454. The patrollers provided a description of the males, the vehicle they left the area in, and a last known direction of travel.

Patrollers were in Schiller Park when they reported two men setting up a tent. CPD was notified of the situation via 645-4545. CPD Cars 113 and 110 responded to the scene and advised the park was closed. The individuals left the park without incident. No further action was needed.
