Community Crime Patrol Observe to Protect

Patrollers reported a vehicle fire in the area of 11th and Fourth. The Columbus Fire Department was notified of the situation. The patrollers further advised that power lines had fallen to the ground. CPD officers and CFD Engine 7 responded to the scene. The fire was extinguished. The electric company was advised of the fallen wires. CFD awaited their arrival. The patrollers cleared the scene.

Patrollers reported a fight involving two males in the area of 16th and Fourth. CPD Car 9052 was notified, responded, and diffused the situation. No further action was needed.

Patrollers reported a fight involving two groups of males in front of 84 E. 15th Avenue. The patrollers’ presence and a couple of quick words diffused the situation. All individuals involved left without incident.

Patrollers were asked to advise a male to leave the premise of a business by a merchant in the area of Dakota and Broad. The patrollers complied and the individual left the area without incident.

Patrollers reported a loose dog in the area of Capital and Yale. Animal Control was contacted, responded and took custody of the dog.

Patrollers reported an open structure at 1006 S. High. CPD was notified of the situation via 645-4545. CPD Cars 9110 and 9120 responded to the scene. No one was located on the premises. No further action was taken.

Patrollers reported two suspicious individuals loitering in the area of Sixth and Innis. The patrollers reported that the individuals committed no crimes in their presence. No further action was taken. Later in the evening, the patrollers passed along information pertaining to the individuals to CPD Car 113.

Call of the Month

Patrollers reported a suspicious individual loitering and looking inside parked vehicles in the area of Morse and Walford. CPD Car 9182 was advised of the situation. CPD Car 9060 and 9182 responded to the scene. The patrollers stopped the male and conducted a field interview. During the interview a background check was done and it revealed an active warrant. The male was also found to have drug paraphernalia in his possession. The male was charged with the active warrant, trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Patrollers advised a group of homeless individuals not to set up a camp in Battelle Riverfront Park. The individuals complied.

Patrollers advised three males to get off the roof of the event center in Bicentennial Park. The males complied.

Patrollers informed a sleeping male that he could not loiter in the park near the Santa Maria. The individual eventually complied and left the area without incident. Patrollers advised CPD Car 161 of the situation as the individual left the area.

Patrollers reported a female attempting to push a trash can into the water in Genoa Park. The patrollers advised her not to do so, she complied and left the park. No further action was needed.
