Safety of residents is our primary concern when patrolling each neighborhood on a nightly basis. To this end, we are contacting each property owner (if possible) to apprise them of this dangerous activity taking place on their property. In May, we reported 14 incidents of this nature.

Call of the Month

Patrollers were in the area of Third and Kossuth when they heard the sound of a car accident. Upon investigation the patrollers confirmed that two vehicles had been involved in an auto accident. CPD was notified via 645- 4545. CPD Car 110 responded to the scene. One of the vehicles was cited for failure to stop.

What do these mean?

The CCP Trail & Parks Safety Program patrols the Metro Parks Greenway trails along the Olentangy River, as well as the Alum Creek Trail. Patrollers are out on the trail on mountain bikes five days a week (weather permitting) in order to provide an added measure of safety to bikers, walkers, joggers, etc., and to assist with any problems trail users might experience, such as flat tires, injuries, etc. During the month of May, CCP patrollers provided 161.50 patrol hours on the trails.

5-10-11

Patrollers were approached by a pedestrian on the Olentangy Trail who advised of three juveniles harassing trail users just north of the Dodridge Bridge. CPD Car 340 and the Metro Parks Rangers were notified of the situation. A Metro Parks Ranger made contact with one of the three juveniles as the other two fled the scene. CPD Car 340 searched the area for the two fleeing juveniles. They were never located. The Metro Parks Ranger conducted a field interview with the juvenile. The juvenile was escorted to Tuttle Park. No further action was taken.
