Home > Where We Patrol > Trail Safety
After budget cuts in 2009 forced the elimination of our trail safety patrol program, we are pleased to announce our return to the Greenway Trails in Central Ohio as of September 21, 2010. The Greenway Trails are now under the management of Franklin County Metro Parks, providing an opportunity for a new partnership for Community Crime Patrol.
Through a pilot project, running from September 21, 2010 to December 4, 2010, CCP staff now patrols the Alum Creek Trail from Wolfe Park to Three Creeks Park and the Olentangy Trail from Lane Avenue to Antrim Lake Park, providing bicyclists, joggers, walkers, and rollerbladers with an added level of security. Patrollers on mountain bikes patrol the trail during peak usage times four days per week. The patrollers have assisted many trail users with information requests, first aid, and have reported safety concerns to Metro Parks.
