The patrollers and staff of Community Crime Patrol were pleased to participate in the “burglary special” project during OSU’s winter break, December 10-30, 2010, to help combat the historic rise in property crimes during school breaks. Patrollers logged 189.00 hours during this time period and aided CPD officers in following 8 suspicious individuals.

Patrollers were approached by a female who had just been involved in an auto accident in the area of 10th and High. CPD was notified via 645-4545. CPD Cars R-41 and 41 responded to the scene. Responding officers took an auto accident report.

Call of the Month

Patrollers witnessed an individual shoplift a sandwich from a business at 1680 N. High. CPD Car 40 was notified of the situation. CPD Cars R41 and 42 responded to the scene. The individual was charged with shoplifting and criminal trespassing.

What do these mean?

The CCP Trail & Parks Safety Program patrols the Metro Parks Greenway trails along the Olentangy River, as well as the Alum Creek Trail. Patrollers are out on the trail on mountain bikes five days a week (weather permitting) in order to provide an added measure of safety to bikers, walkers, joggers, etc., and to assist with any problems trail users might experience, such as flat tires, injuries, etc. During the month of December, CCP patrollers provided 16.00 patrol hours on the trails.
